Pickerings of Pickering

The basis for this tree is the Anglo-Saxon first names that appear attached to “de Pickering” in Pickering itself and the East Riding in the 1100s and for whom documentary evidence exists of their presence until the latter part of the 1300s. It is possible that some families continued under different names, and “de Pickering” denoted the place where they lived at the time rather than their surname. No descendants of William and Isabel of the 8th generation have been found to date.

Proof that the individuals belonged to the same family or of the relationship between the siblings has not always been found, so the following should be considered a draft.
