Pickerings of Sledmere

The Pickerings of Sledmere are an offshoot of the Pickerings of Holderness. William, the eldest son of William Pickering and Hannah Howson, sold his properties in Preston and moved with his family to Sledmere, where he took over an alehouse, all the while continuing his bricklaying business.

An atDNA link has been established between a descendant of William who lives in Canada and a descendant of William and Hannah who lives in Lincolnshire.
