It is not known where yeoman William Pickering who appeared in Wycliffe in the early 1700s came from. It is possible that he and the William Pickering who was born in Bird Ridding and baptised in 1725 in Coverham were one and the same (see Pickerings of Coverdale, 6th generation), but this does not explain his yeoman status. I have posted this family in the Coverdale pink in the hope that a DNA test will prove the connection.
